Mumbai : Vietnamese airline Vietjet and Satair, an Airbus Services company, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in aviation supply chain management, material services and aircraft lifecycle solutions. The agreement was exchanged during the Vietnam–Denmark Business Forum in Copenhagen, in the presence of Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam, King Frederik X of Denmark and senior dignitaries from both countries.
The partnership aims to combine Satair’s global aviation supply and services capabilities with Vietjet’s growing requirements for fleet expansion, international network development and technical infrastructure. It also seeks to strengthen Vietnam’s aviation supply chain capabilities as the airline expands its operations.
Building on the existing Integrated Material Services (IMS) programme supporting Vietjet’s Airbus fleet, the MoU establishes a framework to explore expanded material management solutions, digital optimisation and operational resilience.
Under the agreement, the companies intend to establish a Joint Working Group to evaluate six areas of cooperation: expanding the IMS programme; developing material support and aviation logistics capabilities at Long Thanh International Airport; exploring used serviceable materials, component repair and exchange services; integrating data analytics and predictive demand planning; strengthening aircraft-on-ground (AOG) support and emergency logistics; and developing technical expertise through training and professional knowledge exchange.
Vietjet CEO Nguyen Thanh Son said an efficient supply chain is essential to the airline’s fleet development, international expansion and passenger services. He added that the partnership would help improve maintenance efficiency, support strategic infrastructure development and strengthen local aviation talent.
Richard Stoddart, CEO of Satair, said the agreement builds on the companies’ existing IMS partnership and creates opportunities to develop scalable, sustainable and data-driven supply chain solutions to support Vietjet’s long-term growth. For Indian travellers, Vietjet offers connectivity from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bengaluru to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with onward connections across Asia, Australia and Europe. The expanded cooperation is expected to support the airline’s focus on operational efficiency and reliable services as its international network grows.
