Indo Borax Strengthens Operational Synergies with Kronox Lab Sciences; Appoints Suresh Kalra as MD & CEO

Mumbai : Indo Borax & Chemicals Limited has strengthened its leadership and governance structure at Kronox Lab Sciences Limited following the completion of its acquisition of a 64.26% stake in the specialty chemicals company on September 29, 2026. As part of the transition, Suresh Kalra has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, while Shashikant Bharuka has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel of Kronox Lab Sciences.

The acquisition marks a new phase in Kronox Lab Sciences’ growth trajectory and is expected to strengthen operational synergies between the two companies. The erstwhile promoters of Kronox continue to hold a 9.95% stake in the company.

Mr. Kalra has been appointed as Managing Director and CEO for a period of five years. He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the chemicals industry, with expertise spanning global operations, P&L management, manufacturing, strategic planning and international business expansion across India, the United States, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific markets.

Commenting on his appointment, Suresh Kalra, Managing Director & CEO, Kronox Lab Sciences Ltd, said:

Following the change in shareholding, Kronox Lab Sciences has constituted a new Board comprising three Executive Directors and three Independent Directors. The Board brings together experience across specialty chemicals, manufacturing, finance, banking, legal affairs and corporate governance.

As part of the governance transition, the company has also reconstituted key Board committees, including the Audit Committee, Nomination and Remuneration Committee, Stakeholders Relationship Committee and Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.

The strengthened leadership and governance framework is expected to support Kronox Lab Sciences in enhancing its operational capabilities, expanding its customer base and pursuing new growth opportunities in the domestic and international specialty chemicals markets.

The leadership transition and Board restructuring mark an important step in the integration process following Indo Borax’s acquisition and reinforce the companies’ focus on operational excellence, innovation, customer engagement and sustainable long-term growth.
