New IEEE Student Branch to provide students with opportunities in technical learning, research, professional engagement and international networking
Vadodara: GSFC University has strengthened its focus on technology, innovation and industry-oriented education with the establishment of an IEEE Student Branch on its campus. Approved by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the global professional organisation dedicated to advancing technology and innovation, the branch was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Anil K. Roy, President, IEEE Sensors Council 2026–27.
The establishment of the IEEE Student Branch marks an important step in the university’s efforts to provide students with greater exposure to emerging technologies, research and professional opportunities. Through the branch, students will have access to technical and research-oriented activities while gaining opportunities to connect with professionals, academics and student communities associated with the global IEEE network.
The new branch will serve as a platform for students to organise and participate in technical talks, workshops, seminars, competitions, projects and knowledge-sharing programmes. These activities are expected to complement classroom learning by providing students with practical exposure to evolving technologies and industry trends.
The initiative will also encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling students from different academic backgrounds to work together on technology-driven projects and explore emerging areas of innovation.
Interaction with experts and peers from across the IEEE ecosystem will further provide students with opportunities to understand developments in diverse technology domains and build professional networks beyond the university campus.
The inauguration of the IEEE Student Branch reflects GSFC University’s continued emphasis on creating an ecosystem that connects academic learning, technological innovation, research and industry engagement, while providing students with broader opportunities for professional and global exposure.
