Bharti Airtel Foundation’s free-for-life digital platform offers 4,000+ learning hours and 45+ AI-powered teaching tools across 36 States and Union Territories
New Delhi: Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, has announced that TheTeacherApp has reached nearly 3 lakh users across India, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to strengthen continuous professional development for teachers.
Launched in November 2024, TheTeacherApp is a free-for-li fe digital platform designed to provide educators with accessible professional learning resources, classroom-focused tools and a collaborative community. The platform currently offers more than 4,000 hours of learning content and 45+ AI-powered teaching tools, enabling teachers to enhance their classroom practices and respond to evolving educational needs.
TheTeacherApp is currently driving teacher development across 36 States and Union Territories through an expanding network of government and institutional partnerships. The Bharti Airtel Foundation has partnered with the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand to support state-led Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes for teachers, while also engaging with additional states for similar collaborations.
Driving Teacher Development Across India
In collaboration with NITI Aayog, the Foundation is supporting teacher development initiatives in 12 Aspirational Districts, with a focus on foundational literacy, digital readiness and classroom management.
At the state level, TheTeacherApp is supporting SCERT-led Continuous Professional Development in Jammu & Kashmir, expanding teacher professional development in Uttar Pradesh, enabling AI-powered professional learning in Telangana, and strengthening action research capabilities through RSCERT and DIETs in Rajasthan. Similar initiatives are underway in Uttarakhand and Nagaland.
The platform is also working with the Indian Army’s Northern Command to support educators serving in Army Goodwill Schools across Jammu & Kashmir.
Empowering Teachers Through Continuous Learning
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development for teachers, TheTeacherApp enables educators to pursue learning through short courses, webinars and podcasts.
Teachers can build their professional learning journey at their own pace, selecting content based on their individual interests and classroom requirements. This flexible approach aims to make professional development a more accessible and consistent part of teachers’ everyday professional lives.
Building a Collaborative Education Ecosystem
TheTeacherApp has brought together a growing ecosystem of education and knowledge partners, including Pratham, Khan Academy, Katha, Let’sState, Educational Initiatives (EI), CK-12 Foundation, Simple Education Foundation, Pallavan, Sarvam AI, Good School Alliance and Central Square Foundation.
Through these collaborations, the platform seeks to make quality professional learning, emerging technologies and practical classroom resources more accessible to teachers across India.

Building on 25+ Years of Education Impact
TheTeacherApp builds on more than 25 years of Bharti Airtel Foundation’s work in strengthening schools, improving learning outcomes and supporting teachers across India.
Since 2000, the Foundation’s education initiatives have reached 43 lakh+ students, 37,000+ schools and 25,000+ villages.
Its flagship programmes include the Satya Bharti School Program, which has supported more than 34,500 students and 1,200 teachers; the Quality Support Program, which has reached over 4.45 lakh students and 17,900+ teachers across 1,200 government schools in 13 states; and Quality Support Program State Partnerships, which have extended the Foundation’s school-improvement practices to more than 2.8 million students, 33,000 schools and 1.54 lakh teachers since inception.
