Ahmedabad: GLS University hosted an engaging edition of its flagship conversation series, “Decoded with Chandni Kapadia,” featuring renowned podcaster, storyteller and entrepreneur Jay Thadeshwar. Hosted by Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director of GLS University, the session brought together students, faculty members and aspiring professionals for an insightful discussion on entrepreneurship, creativity, communication, spirituality and personal growth.
The conversation explored Jay Thadeshwar’s journey beyond conventional professional identities, focusing on the experiences and life lessons that have shaped his approach to storytelling and entrepreneurship. Throughout the session, he emphasized the importance of authenticity, curiosity, resilience and discovering one’s unique voice in an ever-evolving world.
Sharing his professional journey, Thadeshwar spoke about transitioning from helping brands build their identities to creating meaningful conversations through his own storytelling platform. He highlighted how authentic narratives have the power to inspire individuals, influence communities and create lasting impact.
One of the key highlights of the session was his decision to create content in the Gujarati language. He explained how regional languages are becoming increasingly influential in the digital landscape, enabling creators to establish deeper emotional connections while preserving cultural identity. The discussion also touched upon entrepreneurship, ambition, spirituality and purpose. Thadeshwar encouraged students to pursue professional success without compromising their values, stressing the importance of maintaining clarity of vision and inner purpose.
Addressing today’s youth, he reflected on the challenges created by social media, constant comparison and societal expectations. He urged students to focus on continuous learning, self-development and meaningful contributions instead of chasing superficial success. Drawing from his experience of interviewing entrepreneurs, industrialists, actors and public figures, Thadeshwar explained the importance of asking thoughtful questions and building conversations that go beyond surface-level interactions.
A particularly inspiring segment of the session focused on his experience representing the voice of Young India at the British Parliament’s House of Commons. Reflecting on his journey from a small-town upbringing in Gujarat to addressing audiences on a global platform, he encouraged students to embrace curiosity, develop communication skills and believe that meaningful ideas can emerge from anywhere.
Reflecting on his own life journey, Jay Thadeshwar said: “Sometimes life does not take you directly towards your dream; it takes you through experiences that prepare you for it. What may look like a missed opportunity at one point can become the foundation for something much bigger in the future.”
