Gandhinagar: MG Group, one of India’s leading bus and coach manufacturers, has unveiled its next-generation premium coach platform, Starz, at Prawaas 2026 in Gandhinagar. The launch marked a major milestone in the company’s journey towards safer, smarter and sustainable passenger transportation, with the company also announcing an immediate order for 50 Starz coaches following the exhibition.
The three-day mobility exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. Miraben Patel, Mayor of Gandhinagar, in the presence of Shri Kaushik Jain, MLA, Dariapur, bringing together industry leaders, transport operators and mobility innovators.
Developed after extensive customer research, Starz has been designed to deliver enhanced passenger comfort, advanced safety features, contemporary styling and improved operational efficiency. The premium coach platform will be available in multiple configurations for intercity travel, tourism, staff transportation and institutional mobility, with both diesel and alternate-fuel powertrain options.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Mohan Kamat, Chairman & Managing Director, MG Group, said the Indian passenger transport sector is witnessing rapid transformation, with growing demand for safety, reliability, comfort and sustainability. He said Starz reflects MG Group’s decades of manufacturing expertise and commitment to delivering future-ready mobility solutions.
MG Group currently operates two major manufacturing facilities in Belagavi, Karnataka, and Zaheerabad, Telangana. While the Belagavi plant focuses on premium and luxury coach manufacturing, the Zaheerabad facility supports large-scale production of school buses, staff transportation vehicles and economy coach segments.
Expected to be priced from around ₹39 lakh (depending on configuration), Starz bookings will commence in July 2026, with customer deliveries scheduled thereafter. The company said it continues to invest in lightweight engineering, advanced composites, sustainable manufacturing and digital engineering capabilities to strengthen India’s evolving passenger mobility ecosystem.
