Kolkata : The makers of Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story have unveiled the much-awaited first-look poster of the film on the occasion of cricket icon Sourav Ganguly’s birthday, making the celebration even more memorable for millions of fans across the globe. Alongside the poster, the makers also announced that the biographical sports drama will release in cinemas worldwide on 14 May 2027, during an extended holiday weekend.
The striking first-look poster features Rajkummar Rao portraying Sourav Ganguly in a cinematic recreation of one of the most iconic moments in Indian cricket history—the legendary jersey-waving celebration from the Lord’s balcony following India’s unforgettable victory over England in the 2002 NatWest Trophy final. The image has long symbolized a fearless new chapter in Indian cricket, reflecting confidence, resilience and an uncompromising spirit under Ganguly’s leadership.
Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story chronicles the inspiring journey of Sourav Ganguly, one of India’s most influential cricket captains. The film traces his evolution from a promising young cricketer to a transformational leader who reshaped the mindset of Indian cricket with determination, bold decision-making and unwavering belief. The biopic celebrates the grit, resilience and conviction that not only defined Ganguly’s illustrious career but also inspired an entire generation of cricketers and fans.
The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. It is presented by T-Series, led by Bhushan Kumar, in association with DBL, and produced under the banner of Luv Films.
