Gandhinagar: Air Marshal P. V. Shivanand, AVSM, VM, the newly appointed Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the South Western Air Command, paid a courtesy visit at Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar. He was accompanied by Smt. Fani Shivanand, President of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional).
During the meeting, Air Marshal P. V. Shivanand was congratulated on assuming one of the Indian Air Force’s most significant operational appointments and was extended best wishes for a successful tenure.
With more than three decades of distinguished military and administrative service, Air Marshal P. V. Shivanand has made notable contributions to strengthening India’s defence preparedness and operational capabilities. In recognition of his exemplary service to the nation, he was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in 2014 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2025 by the Hon’ble President of India.
Smt. Fani Shivanand also highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) for the welfare of Air Force personnel and their families. The association’s programmes focus on education, healthcare, women empowerment, and the social well-being of the Air Force community, reflecting its continued commitment to inclusive development and family welfare.
Expressing confidence in Air Marshal P. V. Shivanand’s leadership, it was stated that his vast operational experience, strategic vision, and commitment to excellence would further strengthen the operational readiness of the South Western Air Command. His leadership is expected to enhance the Indian Air Force’s capabilities while contributing significantly to safeguarding the nation’s borders and reinforcing India’s national security.
