Ahmedabad : Rotary District 3055 commemorated National Doctors’ Day with a grand felicitation ceremony honouring Rotarian doctors for their outstanding contributions to healthcare, humanitarian service and community welfare. The event celebrated the selfless dedication of medical professionals who have consistently embodied Rotary’s philosophy of “Service Above Self.”
The ceremony was graced by Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot as the Chief Guest, while District Governor Rtn Naimish Ravani attended as the Guest of Honour. The programme also witnessed the presence of Past District Governors, Assistant Governors from all Ahmedabad zones, office bearers of various Rotary clubs, eminent medical professionals, Rotarians and distinguished members of society.
During the event, several Rotarian doctors were felicitated in recognition of their unwavering commitment to compassionate healthcare and their remarkable service to society. Their contributions were acknowledged as an inspiring example of humanity, dedication and professional excellence.
The programme was jointly organised by Rotary District 3055 in collaboration with various Rotary clubs and received valuable support from Zydus Hospitals, whose partnership added to the scale and success of the event.
A significant role in the successful execution of the programme was played by the Assistant Governors across Ahmedabad zones, whose collective planning, coordination and teamwork reflected Rotary’s enduring commitment to community service.
Speaking on the occasion, District Governor Rtn Naimish Ravani shared his vision for Rotary Year 2026-27 under the theme “Create Lasting Impact.” He emphasised that every Rotary initiative should go beyond being a one-time activity and create sustainable, long-term positive change in society. He noted that Rotary’s efforts in healthcare, education, environmental conservation and humanitarian service should continue to inspire future generations while making a meaningful and lasting difference.
Addressing the gathering, Ahmedabad Mayor Hitesh Barot praised the selfless commitment of doctors associated with Rotary. He remarked that doctors not only heal patients but also extend healthcare, hope and humanity to the last mile through Rotary’s service initiatives. He appreciated Rotary’s continuous contribution towards social welfare and encouraged the medical fraternity to continue serving society with the same dedication.
Dr. Nehal Sadhu, Assistant Governor, Rotary District 3055 and organiser of the programme, said, “A doctor is not merely a profession but a living symbol of compassion, service and commitment. Chairperson of the event, Rotarian Dr. Pinky Nehal Sadhu, stated that the primary objective of the ceremony was to publicly recognise the invaluable contributions of the medical fraternity, inspire the younger generation towards community service and further strengthen Rotary’s rich legacy of humanitarian work. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Jitendra Kothadiya, President of Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Nexus, who welcomed the dignitaries, doctors and fellow Rotarians.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Hardik Kotecha, Secretary of Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Nexus. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, District Governor, Past District Governors, Assistant Governors, Zydus Hospitals, partner organisations, media representatives and everyone whose direct and indirect support contributed to the successful organisation of the programme.
