Air Marshal PV Shivanand Assumes Charge as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of South Western Air Command

New Delhi : Air Marshal PV Shivanand, AVSM, VM, assumed charge as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the South Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force on July 1, 2026.

Commissioned into the Fighter stream of the Indian Air Force in December 1988, Air Marshal Shivanand brings nearly four decades of distinguished operational and leadership experience. Prior to taking over the South Western Air Command, he served as the Senior Air Staff Officer at Headquarters Central Air Command.

His appointment comes at a significant time as the Indian Air Force continues to strengthen its operational preparedness and enhance indigenous defence capabilities under the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
