IAF Strengthens Industry Collaboration to Accelerate Indigenous Defence Innovation at Vadodara Outreach Programme

Vadodara : Reinforcing its commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and indigenous defence capability development, Air Force Station Vadodara organised an Industry Outreach Programme (IOP) on Tuesday, bringing together representatives from leading industries, MSMEs, start-ups and the Indian Air Force to strengthen collaboration in defence technology and manufacturing.

The programme witnessed participation from delegates of Air Headquarters, Headquarters South Western Air Command, various Indian Air Force establishments, along with representatives from India’s growing defence manufacturing ecosystem. The initiative was designed to provide industry participants with a deeper understanding of the Indian Air Force’s operational ecosystem and encourage the development of innovative indigenous technologies tailored to meet defence requirements.

As part of the programme, participants were given comprehensive presentations and guided visits to key operational, maintenance and administrative facilities at Air Force Station Vadodara. The exposure enabled industry representatives to gain first-hand insights into the operational challenges and technological requirements of the Indian Air Force, helping align future research, product development and manufacturing with user needs.

Interactive discussions between Air Force officials and industry leaders focused on identifying practical, scalable and indigenous solutions across critical defence applications. The dialogue also explored opportunities for innovation, technology development and enhanced collaboration between the armed forces and Indian industry.

The event received an enthusiastic response from industry participants, reflecting the growing confidence of Indian enterprises in contributing to the country’s defence modernisation and self-reliance mission. The Industry Outreach Programme reaffirmed the Indian Air Force’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships with domestic industries, start-ups and MSMEs while promoting innovation-led growth and accelerating the development of indigenous defence technologies.

The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, which seeks to strengthen India’s defence manufacturing capabilities by encouraging greater participation from the domestic private sector, innovation-driven enterprises and technology developers.
