Gandhinagar: In a significant step towards strengthening cyber awareness and digital defence capabilities among India’s youth, the NCC Directorate Gujarat, in partnership with the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), has launched its inaugural Cyber Defender Camp at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar.

The 10-day camp, being conducted from June 19 to June 29, 2026, was inaugurated by Rivaba Ravindrasinh Jadeja in the presence of Maj Gen Bimal Monga, Additional Director General, NCC Gujarat. The NCC Directorate Gujarat has been designated as the regional hub for all cyber training activities across the Western Region, underscoring its growing role in advancing technology-driven skill development within the National Cadet Corps.

A total of 160 NCC cadets from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan have been selected through a rigorous screening process to participate in the programme. The camp aims to equip cadets with practical knowledge and skills in various aspects of cyber security, digital safety, and cyber defence. Participants will receive certification from the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), validating their training and competencies in the field.

The initiative aligns with NCC’s broader vision of preparing youth for emerging challenges through technology-enabled learning. In recent years, NCC has introduced several future-focused programmes covering Cyber Defence, Drone Operations, Digital and Artificial Intelligence Leadership, and Disaster Response to build a skilled and resilient generation of young leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Minister of State for Education Rivaba Ravindrasinh Jadeja commended the efforts of NCC Directorate Gujarat in empowering young cadets with technological knowledge and leadership skills. She highlighted the importance of preparing youth to become disciplined, responsible, and technologically proficient citizens capable of contributing to the vision of a “Sashakt and Viksit Bharat.”

The Cyber Defender Camp is expected to provide participants with valuable exposure to contemporary cyber security challenges and best practices while fostering a culture of digital responsibility and national preparedness among India’s future leaders.
