New Delhi: IndiGo, India’s preferred airline, has become the first carrier to commence commercial flight operations from the newly inaugurated Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in the country’s aviation infrastructure and regional connectivity. The inaugural flight arrived from Lucknow, followed shortly by the first departure to Bengaluru.
The launch of operations from Noida International Airport reinforces IndiGo’s commitment to strengthening domestic connectivity and providing passengers across Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh with enhanced travel options. The airline will directly connect NIA with more than 16 destinations across India, while also enabling seamless one-stop connectivity across multiple Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
The expanded network will facilitate convenient travel between city pairs such as Amritsar–Jodhpur, Bareilly–Bhopal, Chandigarh–Pantnagar, Jaipur–Dharamshala, Kishangarh–Bhopal, and several others, further supporting economic growth, tourism, and regional development.
Commenting on the occasion, Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, IndiGo, stated that the opening of Noida International Airport represents a new chapter in India’s aviation journey. He noted that Delhi-NCR now joins the ranks of global megacities served by multiple airports and emphasized that being the launch carrier reflects IndiGo’s long-term commitment to western Uttar Pradesh, the broader NCR region, and millions of travelers seeking improved connectivity.
Christoph Schnellmann, Vice Chairman, Noida International Airport, welcomed IndiGo’s inaugural operations and said the partnership marks the beginning of a new era for the airport. He highlighted that IndiGo’s network will provide passengers with greater choice and convenience while supporting the continued growth of aviation, trade, and tourism across the region.
Strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway, Noida International Airport is expected to emerge as a major aviation and logistics hub, complementing existing infrastructure in the National Capital Region. With this launch, IndiGo now operates from all three NCR airports—Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi), Hindon Airport (Ghaziabad), and Noida International Airport—further strengthening its leadership in India’s aviation sector.
The airline has also announced an extensive schedule connecting destinations including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Jammu, Jaipur, Lucknow, Pantnagar, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Kishangarh, with phased expansion beginning from June and July 2026.
By becoming the first airline to operate from Noida International Airport, IndiGo continues to strengthen India’s aviation ecosystem while enhancing accessibility, supporting regional economic growth, and delivering seamless travel experiences for millions of passengers.
