Ahmedabad, June 2, 2026: Carrier India has announced the launch of a new Centre of Excellence for Professional Skill Development at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kubernagar. Implemented in partnership with United Way Delhi, the initiative aims to equip students with industry-relevant skills in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) sector while supporting India’s workforce development goals.

The Centre of Excellence has been established under Carrier India’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program and is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements. The initiative will provide students with hands-on training in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems through a specialized curriculum that combines technical education with practical industry exposure.

Speaking on the occasion, Sundaresan Narayanan, Managing Director, Climate Solutions India at Carrier Global Corporation, said: “Expanding our Centres of Excellence to ITI Kubernagar is about more than skilling—it’s about unlocking economic opportunity. By connecting students to industry-led HVAC training and real career pathways, we’re building a workforce that drives employment, fuels sectoral growth, and strengthens the broader economy from the ground up.”

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya, who presided over the launch alongside N. V. Desai, Principal of ITI Kubernagar. The presence of government and institutional leaders highlighted the initiative’s alignment with India’s broader skill development and employment-generation objectives.

Dr. Sujeet Ranjan, CEO of United Way Delhi, emphasized the impact of industry-academia collaboration in enhancing employability among youth. “The launch of the Centre of Excellence at ITI Kubernagar marks a significant step in empowering youth through industry-aligned skilling. In partnership with Carrier India, we are helping equip young people with practical HVAC skills, industry exposure, and pathways to meaningful employment, while expanding access to quality training across the country.”

Sharing his views on the initiative, N. V. Desai, Principal, ITI Kubernagar, stated: “This collaboration reinforces our commitment to delivering industry-aligned training that connects education with skills. Recognizing the growing importance of the HVAC sector, we are focused on developing well-rounded professionals equipped with capabilities required for long-term career success.”

The new Centre of Excellence represents another milestone in Carrier India’s ongoing efforts to support the country’s skill development mission while fostering the adoption of sustainable and energy-efficient climate solutions.
