Ankleshwar : Gujarat Guardian Limited (GGL), a joint venture between Guardian Industries and Modi Rubber Limited, today announced the groundbreaking of its second float glass line and wet coater facility at its Ankleshwar manufacturing plant in Gujarat, marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion strategy in India.
The project, expected to be completed by mid-2028 subject to project timelines, will significantly enhance GGL’s manufacturing capabilities and strengthen supply reliability for customers across India’s rapidly growing construction and infrastructure sectors.
The new energy-efficient air-fuel fired float glass line will add a production capacity of 1,000 metric tons per day, enabling the manufacture of a broad range of glass thicknesses and larger glass formats designed to improve customer yield and processing efficiency.

In addition to the float glass line, GGL will also install a state-of-the-art wet coater facility with an annual production capacity of 72,000 metric tons. The new facility will feature advanced mirror manufacturing technology with single and double paint coating capabilities, supported by fully automated handling, packing, and logistics systems to improve throughput and maintain consistent product quality.
Once operational, the Ankleshwar plant will become a key integrated manufacturing hub for float glass, mirrors, and value-added coated glass products, enabling faster responsiveness and enhanced service capabilities for customers throughout India.
By consolidating advanced manufacturing technologies at a single location, GGL aims to further strengthen its position as a trusted partner to India’s expanding architectural, construction, and infrastructure industries while delivering long-term value to customers, partners, and stakeholders.
