Bajaj Group Celebrates 100 Years of Nation-Building; PM Narendra Modi Applauds Legacy of Innovation, Trust and Global Growth

Mumbai : The Bajaj Group, one of India’s oldest and most respected business conglomerates, celebrated 100 years of legacy, leadership and nation-building with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi praising the Group’s contribution to India’s economic and industrial growth.

Founded in 1926 by freedom fighter, philanthropist and industrialist Jamnalal Bajaj, the Group has evolved into a diversified global enterprise with a market capitalization of USD 148 billion. Today, Bajaj Group companies operate across automobiles, financial services, consumer electricals and engineering sectors while serving one in three Indian households.

In a special message commemorating the centenary celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the Bajaj Group’s role in job creation, innovation and inclusive development. He noted that institutions with deep roots and strong values such as the Bajaj Group would play a key role in India’s journey towards becoming a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.

The grand centenary celebration held at the National Sports Club of India in Mumbai witnessed the presence of industry leaders, ministers, political dignitaries, celebrities and members of the Bajaj family. The event showcased the Group’s remarkable transformation from its roots in India’s freedom movement to becoming a globally recognized industrial powerhouse.

Speaking at the event, Niraj Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Auto, emphasized the Group’s enduring philosophy of “Build in India, Build for India and Build India,” inspired by founder Jamnalal Bajaj’s vision of nation-first entrepreneurship. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, highlighted the company’s global expansion and leadership in the international two-wheeler market, with operations across more than 100 countries.

The celebrations also featured a special live performance by Grammy Award-winning composer Ricky Kej, the screening of the film Kathni Karni Eksi directed by Rajkumar Hirani, and the unveiling of the official “100 Years of Bajaj” logo.

Over the decades, the Bajaj Group’s social initiatives focused on education, youth skilling, employment and healthcare have positively impacted more than 10 million beneficiaries across India. The Group also announced its ambitious plans to expand its social impact initiatives under “Bajaj Beyond,” aiming to empower over two crore young Indians in the next five years.
