Ahmedabad : Marking the auspicious occasion of Purushottam Maas, Shri Bhagwat Vidyapith has announced a month-long series of devotional Manoraths and spiritual programmes at the main temple of Shri Kalpataru Prasad, Sola, from May 17 to June 15, 2026. The institution has also unveiled plans for the construction of a grand new hostel building aimed at providing enhanced residential facilities for Rishi Kumaras studying at the Vidyapith.
Managing Trustee Shri Bhagwat Rishi said that special worship ceremonies and cultural programmes have also been organised on the occasion of the 24th death anniversary of globally revered spiritual leader Shri Krishna Shankar Shastri (P. Dadaji). The commemorative programme, scheduled on May 10, 2026 at 7:00 PM, will include devotional prayers and a musical presentation by the renowned Vikram Labdiya Group.
Highlighting the spiritual significance of the Purushottam month, Shri Bhagwat Rishiji stated that Lord Krishna Himself bestowed His name upon the additional lunar month, making it sacred as Purushottam Maas. As part of the celebrations, multiple traditional Manoraths and festivals have been planned from Adhik Jeth Sud-1 to Adhik Jeth Vad-30 Amas.
The celebrations will feature Samvatsarov, Rath Yatra, Gocharan Leela, Vasant Panchami, Shrinathji Pragatya Mahotsav, Radha Ashtami-Gopashtami, Ram Navami, Naav Manorath, Dan Leela Manorath, Pavitra Ekadashi, Vaman Jayanti, Morkuti Manorath, Narsingh Jayanti, Sharadotsav Raas, Chhak Manorath, Gokul-Mathura Darshan, Akash Jhula, Janmashtami Mahotsav-Nand Mahotsav, Gusainji Utsav, Sawan-Bhada celebrations, Mahaprabhuji Utsav, Sheesh Mahal and Govardhan Puja-Annakut Manorath.
Senior scholar Shri Anantkrishna Shastri informed that more than 5,000 Rishi Kumaras have received education in Sanskrit, Vedas and Upanishads at Shri Bhagwat Vidyapith over the years. Many alumni are currently serving as teachers in reputed convent and CBSE schools, while others are contributing as kathakars, ritual specialists, astrologers and academicians in universities across India and abroad.
He added that over 50 former students of the institution are presently serving as priests in Hindu temples overseas. Alongside traditional Vedic education, the Vidyapith also conducts yoga, karate and weekly Sangh classes, with Bharatanatyam classes set to commence soon. Diploma programmes at Shrivartantu Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, operated by the institution, begin every year in August.
