Goa: Goa-based production house Vinsan Graphics Production has announced its upcoming Marathi feature film Bandkhor, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar. The film was officially launched in Goa in the presence of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who gave the clap for the muhurat shot.

The launch ceremony was attended by producer Sanjay Shetye, Vice-Chairperson of the Goa Entertainment Society and MLA Delilah Lobo, along with the film’s cast and technical crew.

Bandkhor marks the first collaboration between Mahesh Manjrekar and a Goan production house. The film is centred on women’s empowerment and aims to spotlight the strength, aspirations, and resilience of women navigating social and personal challenges.

Producer Sanjay Shetye said the project has been conceived with a socially relevant narrative intended to encourage women to recognise their self-worth and capabilities.

The entire film will be shot across Goa, providing opportunities for local actors and technicians in multiple creative and technical departments. The production house stated that supporting regional talent remains a core focus of the project.

The ensemble cast includes Priyadarshini Indalkar, Mrunal Kulkarni, Chhaya Kadam, Pooja Katurde, Titiksha Tawde, Raavi Kishor, Rupesh Kamat, Siddharth Bodke, Mangesh Desai, Mandar Jog, Neeti Kamat, Mohan Chandelkar, Siddhi Upadhye, Abhishek Mhalashi, Rohit Khandekar, and Pragya Rane. Director Mahesh Manjrekar will also appear in a special role.

Narratively, Bandkhor explores the interconnected journeys of women from different backgrounds, highlighting their struggles, ambitions, and unfulfilled dreams while addressing societal barriers that often limit their progress.

Vinsan Graphics has previously produced the Konkani film Digant and the Marathi film SthalPuran, which earned recognition as the only Goa-produced film selected at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Bandkhor will be the production house’s third feature film. Apart from filmmaking, Vinsan Graphics also organises the Goa Marathi Film Festival, which is set to celebrate its 15th edition this year.
