Ahmedabad: India’s top-ranked para table tennis player Nurjahan Noorali has embarked on a decisive four-tournament international campaign across Europe and Asia, aiming to secure qualification for the Asian Para Games 2026 scheduled in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya this October.

Currently ranked World No. 27 in Class 7 under the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Para Table Tennis rankings, Noorali is targeting a Top 6 finish in Asia to qualify. She presently stands at No. 8 in the Asian rankings. Her campaign began at the ITTF World Para Challenger in Podgorica, Montenegro (April 29–May 2), followed by appearances at the ITTF World Para Challenger and Elite events in Laško, Slovenia (May 5–15). The final leg will take place at the ITTF World Para Elite event in Taipei City (May 17–21).

Diagnosed with polio at the age of five, Noorali returned to competitive sport in 2022 and has since rapidly climbed the ranks. She clinched gold at the UTT National Para Table Tennis Championships and successfully defended her title at the UTT Para Senior National Championship 2025–26 in Indore, establishing herself as India No. 1 in her category.

Based in Ahmedabad, Noorali is also a Junior Officer at Adani Airport Holdings Limited, which has supported her training and international participation through flexible work arrangements. Her campaign is backed by Adani Sportsline under its ‘Garv Hai’ initiative, providing structured training, financial support, and global exposure.

“This phase is crucial for my qualification. With consistent support and the right training environment, I am focused on breaking into the Top 6 in Asia,” said Noorali.

Pranav Adani, Director at Adani Enterprises Limited, added, “Nurjahan’s journey reflects grit, resilience and discipline. We are proud to support her as she prepares to make the country proud on the global stage.”

With qualification on the line, this international circuit marks a defining phase in Noorali’s pursuit of representing India at one of Asia’s premier para sporting events.
