Mumbai: Malaysia Airlines, in collaboration with Mumbai Indians, today unveiled a specially designed aircraft livery, bringing together the iconic identities of both brands in a bold visual celebration of sport, culture, and global connectivity.
Now featured on the airline’s Airbus A330-300, the custom livery transforms the aircraft into a flying symbol of Mumbai Indians’ legacy. The design incorporates the team’s signature blue and gold palette, with a dynamic pulse radiating from its iconic Chakra emblem—representing motion, momentum, and a growing global fanbase.
To commemorate the launch, the two brands released a tribute digital film capturing Mumbai’s vibrant culture, the passion of cricket fans, and the warmth of Malaysian hospitality.
Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), said: “India remains a key growth market for Malaysia Airlines as we continue to expand connectivity across the region. This collaboration with Mumbai Indians allows us to go beyond traditional partnerships by integrating cultural relevance into our brand experience. It reflects our commitment to building meaningful connections with customers worldwide.”
A spokesperson from Mumbai Indians added: “This collaboration reflects how the Mumbai Indians brand continues to transcend cricket and become part of global culture. Seeing our colours take flight is a proud moment that connects fans across geographies.”
The dedicated aircraft is expected to operate on key international routes later this year, enhancing fan engagement by extending the matchday experience into travel. As part of its broader tourism push, Malaysia Airlines continues to promote its Bonus Side Trip (BST) programme, enabling eligible international travellers transiting via Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 to explore additional Malaysian destinations at no extra fare (excluding taxes).
The initiative also supports the national Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a preferred destination for travellers from India and beyond. This unveiling builds on Malaysia Airlines’ ongoing partnership with Mumbai Indians as the Official Global Airline Partner, further strengthening brand visibility in one of its most important international markets.
