Vadodara : GSFC University observed National Fire Week with a series of impactful activities focused on fire safety awareness, prevention, and emergency preparedness.
Led by students of the B.Tech Fire & Environment, Health, Safety (Fire & EHS) programme, the initiative aimed to educate and sensitize the campus community. A key highlight was an engaging skit demonstrating practical measures to prevent fire hazards, particularly in household kitchens—one of the most common sources of accidental fires.
Paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of firefighters, students presented a heartfelt ode honouring those who lost their lives in the line of duty. The programme also featured a live fire drill at the Centre of Excellence in F&EHS, “FirePlex / Agni Sankul,” showcasing real-time emergency response techniques. A relay competition further emphasized teamwork and coordinated action during fire emergencies.
The event was attended by distinguished guests including Amit Kumar Chaudhary, Deputy CFO, Vadodara Municipal Corporation; Vishnu Mishra, Vice President, Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited; Vishnu Patel, Complex Head, Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited; Dr. Madhur Saxena, General Manager, Deepak Nitrite Limited; and Kalpesh Makwana, Joint Secretary, Fire and Security Association of India.
