Bank of India Celebrates 77th Republic Day at Head Office, Mumbai

Mumbai : Bank of India celebrated India’s 77th Republic Day with pride and patriotic spirit at its Head Office, Star House, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. The ceremony began with the unfurling of the national flag by the Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Shri Rajneesh Karnatak. The event was attended by the Bank’s senior leadership, including Executive Directors Shri P. R. Rajagopal, Shri Rajiv Mishra, Shri Subrat Kumar, Shri Pramod Kumar Dwibedi, and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Vishnu Kumar Gupta.

Chief General Managers, General Managers, other senior officials, Head Office staff members, and their families participated in the celebrations, creating an atmosphere of unity and national pride. The gathering paid homage to the nation and marked the historic day in 1950 when the Constitution of India came into force, establishing India as a sovereign, democratic republic.

Addressing the gathering after the flag unfurling, Shri Karnatak highlighted the special significance of this year’s Republic Day, noting that 2026 marks 150 years of India’s National Anthem, Vande Mataram. He said the celebrations are being held under the theme “150 Years of Vande Mataram.”

He spoke about the enduring importance of the Constitution and the role of the banking sector—particularly Bank of India since its inception—in nation-building and contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat. Shri Karnatak urged employees to draw inspiration from the occasion and continue delivering the highest standards of service in support of a strong and prosperous India.
