Ahmedabad : ShemarooMe has premiered its Gujarati original series Haju Vaat Chaale Che on October 22, 2026, featuring Jhanvi Gurnani and Raunaq Kamdar in a light-hearted family drama exploring arranged marriages, family expectations and the search for personal compatibility. Created by National Award-winning creators Rahul Bhole and Vinit Kanojia, the series is available exclusively on ShemarooMe.
Set in Vadodara, the series follows Shivani Dave, an independent bank employee from a close-knit, middle-class family navigating a succession of arranged-marriage meetings. As one prospective groom after another arrives, Shivani balances her family’s expectations with her own aspirations, individuality and understanding of what makes a relationship work.
From awkward introductions and family assessments to questions of financial equality, emotional compatibility and self-respect, the series brings humour to the familiar complexities of Gujarati matchmaking. Each episode introduces a new potential groom, creating fresh situations that challenge Shivani’s expectations and reveal what she truly seeks in a life partner.
Jhanvi Gurnani plays Shivani, while Raunaq Kamdar portrays Akash. The supporting cast includes Anurag Prapanna, Chhaya Vora, Ava Bhatt, Meghna Solanki, Maanav Shah, Chetan Dhanani, Dheirya Thakkar, Parikshit Tamaliya, Maulik Nayak, Pramath and NakshRaaj.
Speaking about her role, Jhanvi Gurnani said Shivani’s independence and relatable circumstances drew her to the character. She highlighted the series’ balance of family entertainment, cultural familiarity and a contemporary perspective on relationships.
Raunaq Kamdar described Akash as more than a conventional romantic interest, adding that the series uses familiar characters and everyday situations to blend humour with thoughtful observations about relationships.
