New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted an Industry Outreach Programme at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on October 21 to share its long-term capability requirements and technological priorities in unmanned and autonomous systems with industry stakeholders.
The programme was chaired by Air Marshal Premkumar K, VM, VSM, Director General (Weapon Systems), Air Headquarters, and witnessed participation from around 100 representatives of drone companies, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), startups and affiliated industry partners.
The initiative builds on the IAF Unmanned and Autonomous Systems Roadmap, released during IAF Dronathon 2026 at Pokhran on September 14. The outreach programme provided a platform for the IAF to outline its future operational requirements and engage with India’s growing unmanned systems industry.
As part of the engagement, the IAF also distributed copies of its roadmap booklet to industry partners, encouraging greater awareness of its long-term priorities and facilitating collaboration between the defence establishment and India’s indigenous drone and autonomous technology ecosystem.
The programme highlights the IAF’s continued engagement with domestic industry to explore technological capabilities and support the development of unmanned and autonomous systems aligned with future operational needs.
