New Delhi : Dhanuka Agritech Limited has announced the launch of ‘Polin’, a new-generation fungicide developed through its technical collaboration with Japan’s Nippon Soda Co. Ltd. (NISSO) to protect paddy crops against Leaf and Neck Blast disease.
Powered by KINOPROL Technology, Polin features a novel DHODHI mode of action classified under FRAC 52. Its dual translaminar and systemic mobility allows the formulation to penetrate crop tissue and protect unsprayed leaf areas as well as newly emerging plant growth.
The fungicide is recommended at a calibrated dose of 100 ml per acre in 200 litres of water. According to the company, when applied at the first signs of infection during critical crop growth stages, Polin provides long-lasting residual control and can help extend the protection window, potentially reducing spray frequency, labour requirements and chemical expenses for rice growers.
Polin has been launched across parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, where Dhanuka has also initiated farmer awareness programmes focused on effective management of Leaf and Neck Blast in paddy. Commenting on the launch, Rahul Dhanuka, Managing Director, Dhanuka Agritech Limited, said that Polin brings patented Japanese chemistry with a new mode of action for rice blast management. He added that the company plans to introduce more solutions for farmers in the coming months.
