Alwar, Rajasthan: Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) has further strengthened its commitment to developing India’s next generation of cricketing talent with the inauguration of its 39th centre at Laxmi Devi Institute of Engineering & Technology (LIET), Alwar.
The new facility marks CAP’s sixth centre in Rajasthan, expanding the academy’s reach across the state and creating greater access to structured, professional cricket coaching for aspiring young players in Alwar and surrounding regions.
The centre was inaugurated by Yusuf Pathan, celebrated former Indian cricketer and Co-Founder of Cricket Academy of Pathans, alongside Harmeet Vasdev, Managing Director, CAP. Their presence underlined CAP’s vision of taking quality cricket education and professional development opportunities to emerging talent beyond India’s major sporting centres.
Speaking at the inauguration, Yusuf Pathan said: “Our objective is to ensure that talent and potential are identified and developed in every corner of the country. Alwar has tremendous potential and through this centre, young players will have access to the right technical guidance and a clear pathway towards professional cricket.”
With an established legacy of training more than 18,000 students and helping over 550 cricketers progress into prestigious competitions and platforms including the IPL, Ranji Trophy and other premier domestic circuits, CAP has emerged as a significant platform for grassroots and professional cricket development.
Rajasthan’s Emerging Talent Gets a Stronger Platform
CAP’s growing presence in Rajasthan has already produced promising results. One of the academy’s recent success stories is Shifan Khan of CAP Jaipur, who was selected for the BCCI U-16 High Performance Camp 2026 and was also recognised as the Best Cricketer in the Sub-Junior Category at the 33rd Mathuradas Mathur Awards.
The achievement reflects the potential emerging from Rajasthan and reinforces CAP’s focus on identifying talented young players at an early stage and providing them with the coaching, infrastructure and performance support required to progress.
Focus on Tier-II and Tier-III Cricketing Talent
According to Harmeet Vasdev, Managing Director, CAP, the expansion into Alwar is part of a wider strategy to unlock cricketing potential in India’s tier-II and tier-III cities. “Our strategic focus is on identifying and empowering potential in untapped markets, as India’s tier II and tier III cities have a massive pool of unguided talent. By establishing our sixth centre in Rajasthan, we are expanding access to quality cricket training across the state and ensuring that talented young athletes in Alwar have the opportunity to convert their passion into a professional career.”
The new centre will also incorporate modern coaching methodologies and advanced performance technologies, including StanceBeam, which provides real-time feedback and detailed performance analysis to help players understand and improve their technique.
CAP Continues Its Scholarship Initiative
Vasdev also highlighted CAP’s recently concluded PAN-India Scholarship Program, an initiative designed to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent promising young cricketers from accessing high-quality training and development opportunities. “We will continue this initiative every year to inspire the next generation of cricketers across India to dream big and pursue their ambitions in the sport.”
The scholarship initiative forms part of CAP’s broader commitment to making professional cricket training more accessible to talented youngsters, irrespective of their financial background.
More Centres Planned Across India
With the addition of its Alwar facility, CAP is continuing its rapid national expansion. The academy has announced plans to launch more than 25 additional centres across tier-II and tier-III cities in India, further broadening its grassroots cricket development network.
The Alwar centre is therefore not only a new training facility but also another step in CAP’s larger mission of building a stronger talent pipeline and providing aspiring cricketers across India with a structured pathway towards competitive and professional cricket.
