National : Zomato, India’s food ordering and delivery platform, has announced a zero-tolerance policy on the sale of analogue dairy dishes by restaurants listed on its platform. The company has reserved the right to remove restaurant listings found to be in violation of the policy.
With immediate effect, dishes that restaurant partners have declared as containing analogue dairy products have been delisted from the platform.
The move marks a consumer-first initiative driven by Zomato’s commitment to greater transparency, food quality and informed customer choices.
Restaurant partners have been asked to take immediate corrective action, including:
- Transitioning to natural dairy products;
- Removing menu items containing analogue dairy products where an immediate transition is not feasible; and
- Reviewing product labels and ingredient declarations provided by suppliers to verify the ingredients being used and ensure accurate representation of products listed on Zomato.
Restaurant partners that fail to comply with the policy may be delisted from the platform.
The new policy builds on Zomato’s broader focus on healthier food choices and greater transparency for customers, in line with applicable regulatory requirements.
