Mumbai : Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC) has reported strong financial and operational performance for the first half of 2026, driven by sustained travel demand, expanding international operations, and continued investment in one of the Asia-Pacific region’s largest next-generation aircraft order books.
The airline reported separate revenue of VND45.03 trillion (approximately US$1.71 billion) during H1 2026, up 26% year-on-year, while consolidated revenue increased 44% to VND51.54 trillion (approximately US$1.96 billion). The company achieved over 58% of its annual revenue target during the first six months of the year.
Separate after-tax profit reached VND1.13 trillion (approximately US$42.6 million), while consolidated after-tax profit stood at VND1.37 trillion (approximately US$52.2 million), representing significant progress toward its full-year profitability goals. In the second quarter alone, Vietjet posted consolidated revenue of VND30.50 trillion (approximately US$1.16 billion), reflecting a robust 71% year-on-year growth, supported by increasing passenger demand and expanding international connectivity.
600+ Aircraft Order Book to Drive 2030 Vision
As part of its long-term expansion strategy, Vietjet continues to strengthen its fleet with an order book exceeding 600 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, positioning itself for sustained international growth through 2030. During 2026, the airline finalized agreements with Pratt & Whitney to supply GTF engines for 44 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft while securing financing for 12 Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
At the Singapore Airshow 2026, Vietjet and its strategic partners also announced the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Aviation Financial Center, an initiative aimed at attracting global aviation and financial institutions to Vietnam while supporting the country’s ambition of becoming a regional aviation hub.
International Network Continues to Expand
Vietjet operated nearly 72,000 flights and carried more than 13.4 million passengers during the first half of 2026. Cargo operations also remained strong, transporting nearly 41,000 tonnes during the period. The airline currently serves 213 routes, including 167 international routes, with new services connecting destinations across China, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic.
For Indian travellers, Vietjet operates direct services from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, providing convenient onward connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region.
Building an Integrated Aviation Ecosystem
Beyond passenger services, Vietjet continues to evolve into a diversified aviation group by expanding operations in ground handling, air cargo, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), aviation finance, engineering, technology, and aviation training.
AirportNEO has commenced ground handling services at major airports across Vietnam, while the airline is integrating artificial intelligence into operational management through partnerships with global technology providers to improve fuel efficiency, optimize operations, and reduce emissions.
Investing in Aviation Talent
Vietjet also strengthened its focus on aviation training by partnering with Aviation Australia and F Air Flight School, while continuing as an IATA-certified training partner. During the first half of 2026, the Vietjet Aviation Academy conducted 9,662 training courses for more than 99,000 trainee enrollments, covering pilots, cabin crew, engineers, dispatchers, and aviation professionals.
Global Recognition
According to Brand Finance, Vietjet’s brand value reached US$906 million as of May 2026. The airline was also recognized among the World’s Safest Airlines by AirlineRatings, named one of the Best Companies to Work for in Asia, featured among Vietnam’s Top 50 Listed Companies, and recognized by Cirium as the most emissions-efficient airline for intra-Southeast Asia operations.
