Launches New Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime Range; Showcases EV, CNG and Premium Passenger Transport Solutions
Gandhinagar : Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled its next-generation passenger mobility portfolio at Prawaas 5.0, introducing the all-new Tata Ultra Prime and Tata Starbus Prime range. Designed to offer superior comfort, enhanced safety and improved operational efficiency, the new buses reaffirm Tata Motors’ commitment to transforming passenger transportation across India.
Alongside the new launches, Tata Motors showcased a comprehensive portfolio comprising the LPO 1620 CNG, Ultra Prime LPO 412, Ultra Skool 9/9 EV, Magic EV, Winger Plus and the Ultra Prime RE Concept, demonstrating solutions across intercity, intracity, school, tourism, institutional and last-mile transportation.
Speaking at the event, Anand S, Vice President and Business Head – Commercial Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors Ltd., said that Prawaas continues to be an important platform for understanding the evolving needs of fleet operators and public transport providers. He said the newly introduced products have been developed to address diverse mobility requirements ranging from employee transport and school buses to tourism and last-mile connectivity, while helping customers reduce operating costs and improve profitability.
The newly launched Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime buses feature refreshed exterior styling, upgraded interiors and improved ride quality. The buses are equipped with 29 advanced safety features, including a Driver Monitoring System, 360-degree camera, Intelligent Transport System (ITS) and Rear Parking Assistance System (RPAS), ensuring enhanced passenger and driver safety.
The Tata LPO 1620 CNG has been designed for efficient intercity and intracity passenger transportation, combining high passenger capacity with lower operating costs while supporting cleaner mobility. For premium long-distance travel, Tata Motors introduced the Ultra Prime LPO 412, offering superior ride comfort and an enhanced passenger experience for tourism and intercity operations.
Strengthening its electric mobility portfolio, the company showcased the Ultra Skool 9/9 EV, an electric school bus equipped with fast-charging capability, extended operating range and advanced safety technologies. The bus also offers an optional paint scheme and graphics specially designed to create a more comfortable travel environment for neurodivergent children.
Making its India debut, the Ultra Prime RE Concept represents Tata Motors’ vision for future-ready urban bus operations, focusing on passenger comfort, reliability and improved fleet productivity.
The company also highlighted the Magic EV, a zero-emission last-mile passenger mobility solution offering a driving range of up to 120 kilometres on a single charge with low operating costs, alongside the Winger Plus, a premium people mover designed for staff transportation, institutional use and tourism applications.
Supporting its product portfolio is Tata Motors’ extensive customer service ecosystem, comprising over 4,600 sales and service touchpoints across the country. Through Sampoorna Seva 2.0, customers receive 24×7 assistance, annual maintenance solutions and assured spare parts availability. The Tata Motors Fleet Management Solution further enables operators to improve fleet visibility, maximise uptime and enhance operational efficiency.
