Ahmedabad: Wedding Avenue hosted ‘Celebrating Her’ at The Belvedere Golf & Country Club, Adani Shantigram, bringing together women entrepreneurs, artisans, creators, professionals and families for an evening dedicated to celebrating craftsmanship, culture and the spirit of contemporary womanhood.
Conceived as ‘An Event for Real Women, By Real Women’, the initiative went beyond the format of a conventional exhibition to create a meaningful platform where women could showcase their journeys, creativity and entrepreneurial pursuits while fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration.
The event draws upon the legacy of Mr. Rashmikant Shah, Founder of Wedding Avenue, whose more than four decades of expertise in the textile and saree industry have helped establish the brand as a destination for handcrafted sarees and curated designer collections. Through Wedding Avenue and its designer label ALIEN’S ZUBAA, the organisation continues to champion Indian craftsmanship by collaborating with artisans and preserving the country’s rich textile traditions.
Conceptualised by Dr. Kiran Jha, CEO of Wedding Avenue and a Relationship & Communication Clarity Coach, Celebrating Her welcomed participation from entrepreneurs, homemakers, artists, professionals and creators from across Ahmedabad. The event focused on encouraging confidence, self-expression and meaningful connections while providing visibility to women-led enterprises.
One of the key attractions was the curated showcase of handcrafted sarees representing India’s diverse textile heritage. The collection featured silk, Chanderi, Mashru silk, cotton-linen, Banarasi tissue and Tussar fabrics, complemented by traditional artisanal techniques including Kantha embroidery, Kalamkari, Pichwai art, zari work, appliqué and eco-printing. Visitors appreciated not only the craftsmanship but also the cultural narratives and artisanal traditions reflected in each creation.
The evening’s signature presentation, ‘A Ramp for Real Women’, emerged as one of the most celebrated moments of the event. Instead of professional models, women from different walks of life confidently walked the runway, celebrating authenticity, individuality and self-belief. The showcase highlighted that confidence and grace are defined by personal journeys rather than conventional standards.
Beyond fashion and textiles, the platform encouraged conversations around women-led entrepreneurship, collaboration and community building. Entrepreneurs and creators had the opportunity to showcase their work, exchange ideas and build meaningful networks that support the continued growth of women-owned businesses.
