SwaRaksha Mahotsav 2026 Begins in Ahmedabad with Focus on Atmanirbhar Bharat and Strategic Innovation

Ahmedabad: SwaRaksha Mahotsav 2026, a two-day Global Summit, Exhibition & Awards platform focused on aerospace & defence, geospatial technologies, space, marine systems, unmanned technologies and homeland security, commenced successfully at Vigyan Bhawan, Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Themed “Fostering Partnership for Security”, the Mahotsav brought together senior government officials, armed forces representatives, defence PSUs, global OEMs, startups, academia, policy experts and industry leaders to discuss India’s growing role in defence innovation, indigenisation and strategic partnerships.

The event is hosted by the Government of Gujarat through the Department of Science & Technology, Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST) and Gujarat Science City. It is co-hosted by the Survey of India, Government of India, and Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Department of Space, Government of India. The Mahotsav is being organised by the Trade Promotion Council for Geospatial and Space Industry (TPCGSI), New Delhi, with support from various government organisations and institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Singh (Adv.), Founder & Director General, Trade Promotion Council for Geospatial and Space Industry, said, “SwaRaksha Mahotsav 2026 is envisioned as a transformative platform to strengthen India’s self-reliance in security, geospatial and space technologies while fostering collaboration between industry, government, startups, academia and innovators. Through this initiative, we aim to showcase indigenous capabilities, encourage innovation-driven partnerships and accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that contribute to national security and economic growth.”

He added that the Mahotsav reflects the commitment towards building a resilient ecosystem aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and positioning India as a global leader in emerging strategic technologies. Maj Gen Bimal Monga, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, said the initiative offers a valuable opportunity for users, industry, government and academia to jointly develop solutions for the nation.

“It is a commendable endeavour, and I am confident that we are moving in the right direction. Such interactions will help us better understand each other’s needs and challenges, enabling stronger collaboration and meaningful progress,” he remarked.

The two-day Mahotsav features conferences, panel discussions, exhibitions and networking sessions focused on strengthening collaboration, innovation and technological advancement across aerospace, defence, geospatial and homeland security sectors.
