The Uttar Pradesh government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is accelerating efforts to transform the state into a national model of agricultural growth through smart farming, modern technology, market-oriented policies and export-driven agriculture. The government has set an ambitious target of making Uttar Pradesh a global hub for sustainable and high-value agriculture by 2047.
The state has recorded significant growth in agricultural production between 2017 and 2025, including a 16% rise in wheat production, 34% growth in oilseeds and a 26% increase in pulses. Agricultural exports have also more than doubled, reaching around Rs 7,139 crore in FY 2024-25.
The World Bank-supported UP AGREES project is further strengthening agriculture and fisheries in 28 districts of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand, helping farmers adopt modern technologies and improve incomes.
