Mumbai: Stressing the importance of self-reliance in defence manufacturing, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh said that indigenous defence systems played a crucial role in the operational success of Operation Sindoor and will remain central to India’s vision of becoming a “Viksit Bharat.”
Speaking at the Bramha Research Foundation event in Mumbai, the senior Indian Air Force officer highlighted the growing opportunities in India’s aviation and defence ecosystem. He said the country’s push for Atmanirbharta in Defence has significantly strengthened operational capabilities and encouraged innovation across sectors.
Air Marshal Tejinder Singh noted that private companies and MSMEs have immense potential to collaborate with the armed forces and leverage new government initiatives to develop advanced defence technologies and products required by the Indian Armed Forces. He expressed confidence that India’s defence exports would witness substantial growth in the coming years as indigenous manufacturing and technological capabilities continue to expand.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, the Air Marshal described it as a “quick success,” stating that the mission achieved its objectives effectively and compelled the adversary to seek cessation of hostilities on India’s terms.
The remarks come amid India’s continued focus on strengthening domestic defence production, enhancing strategic capabilities, and positioning itself as a global defence manufacturing hub.
