Ahmedabad/New Delhi: Leading industrialist and Chairman of Bharti Airtel, Sunil Bharti Mittal, delivered a strong message of confidence, resilience, and national commitment while addressing the Annual Business Summit organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Speaking at the summit, Mittal called upon Indian industries and entrepreneurs to step forward during challenging global economic conditions and continue investing aggressively in India’s long-term growth story.

Highlighting the role of industry chambers in nation-building, Mittal said CII has consistently worked closely with policymakers and stakeholders to strengthen India’s economic and industrial ecosystem. He encouraged young entrepreneurs and business leaders to actively participate in chambers like CII and contribute towards shaping progressive policy frameworks for the country.

Referring to the global economic uncertainties and geopolitical tensions impacting economies worldwide, Mittal echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent message on economic self-reliance and responsible growth. He urged industries to reduce dependence on gold imports, lower energy costs, and accelerate the transition toward renewable energy adoption.

Mittal also emphasized the importance of increasing domestic investments and capital expenditure within India. Sharing insights from Airtel’s expansion plans, he revealed that the company invested nearly ₹31,000 crore in capex during 2024-25, with additional investments through tower subsidiaries, and stated that investments are expected to rise further in the coming years.

“This is not the moment to shy away. This is the moment to invest, double down in our own country,” Mittal stated while underlining India’s strong consumer-driven growth potential backed by a young and aspirational population.

He concluded by reinforcing the vision of “Make in India, from India, serving India,” urging industries to strengthen domestic manufacturing, innovation, and economic participation for sustainable national growth.
