Bengaluru: In a remarkable demonstration of recovery and resilience, four patients from Fortis Hospital Bannerghatta Road successfully completed the TCS World 10K Run Bengaluru 2026 after undergoing Total Knee Replacement and Total Hip Replacement surgeries.
Once limited by severe joint pain and restricted mobility, these individuals have now achieved a significant milestone, reclaiming active and independent lifestyles. Their journeys underscore how advanced orthopaedic care, combined with patient determination, can restore not just mobility but also confidence and overall quality of life. Among the participants was 71-year-old Mr. Basangauda, a former SBI employee, who had endured chronic knee pain for over a decade. Following bilateral Total Knee Replacement at Fortis Bannerghatta Road, he progressed from assisted movement to independent walking within two months, ultimately completing the 10K run.
Similarly, 42-year-old software engineer Mr. Dileep Kumar Satani, who struggled with debilitating joint pain for nearly two years, underwent Robotic Direct Anterior Total Hip Replacement in both hips. Post-surgery, he regained a pain-free lifestyle, describing his participation in the run as both a physical and emotional milestone.
Ms. Bhuvaneshwari Hoskati, a 30-year-old police officer, overcame persistent pain that once affected her demanding duties. After undergoing robotic hip replacement surgery, she returned to full fitness and active service, culminating in her successful completion of the 10K run.
Mr. Anoop Singh, 40, who had battled long-standing joint pain impacting his personal and professional life, also underwent robotic hip replacement surgery. Today, he has resumed daily activities, including biking, and marked his recovery by finishing the run—an achievement he once considered impossible.
