Ahmedabad : The Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad (CAAA) organized a special technical evening to commemorate its 75th year milestone, bringing together leading professionals, past presidents, and members of the Chartered Accountant fraternity. The event reflected CAAA’s rich legacy of contributing to the profession over the past seven decades, while also highlighting the evolving dynamics of the Chartered Accountancy landscape.
A key highlight of the evening was the felicitation of lifetime member CA Bishan Shah, who was recently elected as Secretary of WIRC of ICAI, in recognition of his contribution to the profession. The technical session featured Senior Advocate Shri Saurabh Soparkar, who delivered an insightful address on landmark judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India that have significantly shaped the taxation framework. His session offered practical perspectives on judicial developments impacting professionals.
Adding a forward-looking dimension, Mr. Mrugank Parikh conducted a session on Technology in Professional Practice, emphasizing the growing need to integrate digital tools and systems into core professional functions to enhance efficiency, compliance, and value delivery. As part of its platinum jubilee celebrations, CAAA also unveiled its 75th Year logo, symbolizing its strong legacy and progressive vision for the future.
The evening also acknowledged generous contributions received towards the Association’s development. The families of Late CA M. G. Patel and Late CA Ashvin Shah contributed ₹5 lakh each. The contribution in memory of CA M. G. Patel will support technology upskilling initiatives, while the contribution in memory of CA Ashvin Shah will aid young professionals through Study Circle initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, CA Rushabh Shah, President of CAAA, emphasized that the Association’s strength lies in its legacy built by past leadership and its continued efforts to remain relevant. He highlighted key initiatives such as the Articleship Mela and collaborations with organizations like the Wadhwani Foundation to expand professional opportunities.
He further noted that CAAA has added 150 new members in the current year, reflecting growing engagement and trust within the professional community. The event witnessed the presence of several past presidents, senior professionals, and members, reinforcing CAAA’s role as a vital platform for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and professional development in Ahmedabad.
