Riyadh : The Embassy of India in Riyadh commemorated Armed Forces Veterans’ Day with a solemn and inspiring ceremony to honor India’s Veer Yodhas for their unwavering service and sacrifice in safeguarding the nation. The event was attended by H.E. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with Indian military veterans, their families, members of the Indian community, students from Indian schools in Riyadh, and senior Embassy officials.

In his address, Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan emphasized the invaluable role of India’s veteran community in nation-building and global peace. He highlighted India’s significant contribution to United Nations peacekeeping missions, reaffirming the country’s commitment to international security and stability. Several veterans also shared their personal experiences from their service years and their journey in Saudi Arabia, adding an emotional and reflective touch to the occasion.

The event featured vibrant patriotic cultural performances by students from Indian schools in Riyadh, including songs, dance recitals, and a skit that portrayed the bravery, discipline, and dedication of the Indian Armed Forces. As a gesture of respect, Ambassador Khan presented commemorative gifts and the latest edition of Samman magazine to the veterans in recognition of their distinguished service.
Alongside the Veterans’ Day observance, Ambassador Khan inaugurated a photo exhibition titled “Human Cost of Terrorism.” The exhibition shed light on the devastating impact of terrorism on individuals and communities, while reinforcing India’s steadfast stance against terrorism in all its forms.
