The SANTRAM Bhavan has been patronised by Shri Devang Patel of the IPCO Family, one of Gujarat’s leading industrial families, along with devotees of Santram Maharaj from Nadiad. Highlighting the IPCO Family’s long-standing association with CHARUSAT, Dr. Binit Patel, Registrar, CHARUSAT, said the consistent support of Late Shri Indukaka, Shri Devangbhai, and Smt. Anitaben has played a key role in the university’s institutional growth.

With contributions exceeding ₹25 crore, Shri Devangbhai is among CHARUSAT’s most prominent benefactors. His philanthropy has supported the establishment of several landmark institutions on campus, including the Indukaka Ipcowala Institute of Management (IIIM), Devang Patel Institute of Advanced Technology and Research (DEPSTAR), and the Anita Devang Patel Ipcowala Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence. Continuing this legacy, Shri Devangbhai has led the development of CHARUSAT’s major multi-utility building, now being named Shri SANTRAM Bhavan, envisioned as a central hub for technology-enabled academic and administrative operations.

Designed to strengthen efficiency, digital capability, and resource optimisation, SANTRAM Bhavan houses key administrative and innovation units on its ground floor, including the Centre for Online Education Program (CCOE), Controller of Examination (CoE), Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Charusat Innovative Ventures Foundation (CIVF), and the Charusat Startup and Innovation Centre (CSIC), along with IT development facilities and support infrastructure.

The first and second floors are dedicated to CHARUSAT’s Paperless Examination System, which has been fully operational since 2022 across all seven faculties and ten institutes. Each semester, more than 10,000 students appear for examinations in two digitally equipped halls with a combined capacity of 1,200 students, supported by tablet-based infrastructure and secure examination management facilities. The third floor further strengthens examination operations with assessment rooms, exam staff offices, and an in-house press for secure printing of academic documents.

With its technology-driven and environmentally conscious design, SANTRAM Bhavan has emerged as a vital nerve centre of CHARUSAT’s academic ecosystem. The nomenclature ceremony marks the coming together of spiritual blessings, visionary philanthropy, and institutional innovation, reflecting the lasting impact of the IPCO Family’s contributions to higher education.
