Ahmedabad : The Tennis Premier League (TPL), sponsored by Clear Premium Water, is set to deliver an exhilarating seventh season at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium from December 9 to 14. With seven successful editions under its belt, TPL proudly stands as only the fourth sports league in India to reach this remarkable milestone.

Season 7 marks a noteworthy milestone, as it takes the league beyond Maharashtra for the very first time. By hosting the tournament in Ahmedabad, the TPL is dedicated to expanding its reach and fostering robust tennis communities throughout the nation. This year’s edition promises a thrilling week of high-octane action with top 50 ranked international athletes competing alongside India’s leading tennis stars. Eight franchises will battle it out in TPL’s signature fast-paced, four-round format—Women’s Singles, Mixed Doubles, Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles—each round carrying 25 points.

Each team will play five league matches from December 9 to 13, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals and finals on December 14. Season 7 boasts a star-studded line-up featuring Grand Slam champion Rohan Bopanna, World No. 26 Luciano Darderi, and Britain’s top star Dan Evans. India’s rising talents including Shrivalli Bhamidipaty and Sahaja Yamalapalli add further depth, ensuring a fiercely competitive field.

Speaking about the upcoming season, Rohan Bopanna of SG Pipers Bengaluru said: “Twenty-five game points make the matches fast and exciting, and now that I have retired, this format is perfect for me. It is fun, high-energy, and for youngsters it is a fantastic format to watch and play. Every point is important, and you need to start strong from the first rally. Being televised means fans get to enjoy every player, not just the top stars. Tournaments like TPL give everyone across the country the chance to follow all the players, and that is amazing.”

World No. 26 Luciano Darderi, representing Rajasthan Rangers, shared his enthusiasm for the league: “I am excited to be part of the Tennis Premier League for the first time and to represent the Rajasthan Rangers. I have heard a lot about the energy of the league and the passion Indian fans bring to every match. Playing in this format will be a new experience, and I am looking forward to contributing to the team and enjoying the atmosphere in Ahmedabad.”

Britain’s Dan Evans, who will play for the Gurgaon Grand Slammers, added: “It is great to be here in India for the first time. I’m really looking forward to joining the team and representing the Gurgaon Grand Slammers. I know how passionate Indian fans are. The TPL format is fast and competitive, and I am excited to be part of this team environment and contribute to a strong campaign in Ahmedabad.”

With teams sharpening strategies and finalising combinations, TPL Season 7 is poised to be one of the most dynamic and competitive editions yet, reinforcing the league’s growing stature within India’s sporting landscape. The Tennis Premier League Season 7 will be broadcast live from 9th to 14th December on Sony Sports Network and JioHotstar—making it the only tennis league in India to be televised and streamed across both platforms.
