CDS Commends the Valor and Professionalism of the Indian Armed Forces
To uplift the spirits of the Armed Forces, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan visited the strategically significant Suratgarh Military Station and Naliya Air Force Station today, May 19, 2025. During his visit, he engaged with the troops, highlighting the crucial role of operational readiness and resilience in addressing evolving security challenges.
General Chauhan praised the operational readiness and high morale of the personnel, expressing his confidence in their capability to effectively handle future threats. He was joined by Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of the South Western Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Air Command. The visit was characterized by a sense of pride, honoring the remarkable bravery exhibited by soldiers during Operation Sindoor. He was updated on the latest and advanced Air Defence systems that were deployed for the operation. Additionally, General Chauhan engaged in strategic discussions with senior military commanders throughout his visit.
General Chauhan lauded the exceptional valour and professionalism of the soldiers during the active phase of the operation. Highlighting their selfless dedication, resolute courage, and steadfast commitment in neutralizing multiple attempts by the western adversary to breach security, he said that they uphold the highest standards of military professionalism. CDS emphasized the need to remain ever prepared for responding to any challenge with decisive force.
During his speech, the CDS commended the collaboration between the different services. General Chauhan also expressed his gratitude to the local civil administration for their assistance, emphasizing the significance of military-civil synergy in critical circumstances. This visit underscored the nation’s appreciation for its armed forces and reinforced the themes of unity, preparedness, and steadfast national commitment.
