Ahmedabad: SciKnowTech Education Foundation hosted its annual science and mathematics carnival, SciKnowFest 2026, at Gulmohar Greens Golf and Country Club, attracting over 4,000 visitors. Mentored by scientist and educationist Dr Megha Bhatt, the event featured experiential learning through student-led projects and working models. Students from Grades 2 to 10 participated, presenting hands-on innovations across science and mathematics.
Participants came from multiple cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Surat and Vapi, along with international representations from Muscat, Dubai and Qatar.Projects ranged from research-based topics such as why different balls bounce differently and analysing the health aspects of snacks, to concepts explaining roller coaster physics and mathematical principles in games like snooker. Conceptual models including the Da Vinci Bridge and magnetism-based innovations were also showcased. Interactive science games and challenge zones were part of the event.
Among those present were Dr Rajul Gajjar, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University; writer-director Saumya Joshi; theatre artist Jigna Vyas; and astrophysicist Dr Ekta Shah, who interacted with students.Astronaut Sunita Williams addressed participants virtually from the United States and appreciated the initiative.The event also saw participation from students of public and municipal schools, supported by partner institutions and NGOs.
A drone show was organised as part of the programme, demonstrating applications of science and technology through a visual display. Students also conducted quizzes, demonstrations and performances.
