Mumbai : Škoda Auto India has launched the refreshed Kushaq, reinforcing its positioning in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment with a sharper focus on value engineering, safety standardisation and performance-led differentiation. The updated model is aligned with the brand’s strategy of democratising European technology for Indian consumers while expanding its reach across price-sensitive and premium buyer segments.

The new Kushaq range starts at ₹10.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 1.0 TSI variant and goes up to ₹18.99 lakh for the fully loaded 1.5 TSI Monte Carlo trim. With this update, the company has significantly expanded feature parity across variants, positioning even the entry-level trims as high-value propositions. A key highlight is the introduction of a segment-first eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission, now available from lower trims, enhancing accessibility to automatic driving. Škoda continues to offer its proven turbo-petrol lineup, with the 1.0 TSI delivering 85 kW power and 178 Nm torque, while the 1.5 TSI produces 110 kW and 250 Nm, paired with a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
From a product strategy standpoint, Škoda has prioritised safety as a core differentiator. The Kushaq retains its Global NCAP 5-star safety credentials and now integrates over 40 safety features as standard across the range, including six airbags, electronic stability systems, and enhanced visibility elements such as rain-sensing wipers and auto-dimming IRVMs. This move reflects an industry-wide shift where safety is increasingly becoming a baseline expectation rather than a premium add-on. In terms of feature upgrades, the Kushaq introduces several segment-first and segment-leading enhancements, including a rear seat massager, panoramic sunroof, and an upgraded digital cockpit experience. The cabin also integrates AI-enabled infotainment powered by cloud-based services, indicating the brand’s push toward connected mobility.
Škoda has restructured the variant lineup into five trims — Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo — each targeting distinct customer cohorts. Notably, the Classic+ trim disrupts entry-level expectations by offering premium features such as LED lighting, alloy wheels, sunroof and touchscreen infotainment, setting a new benchmark in value packaging. The Monte Carlo variant continues to leverage Škoda’s motorsport heritage, featuring sportier design elements, red accents and differentiated interior themes. Meanwhile, the Prestige trim focuses on premium comfort and technology, including ventilated seats and enhanced audio systems.
On the ownership front, Škoda has strengthened its aftersales proposition with the ‘Škoda Super Care’ package, which includes a standard four-year warranty, roadside assistance, and complimentary service benefits. This initiative is aimed at improving total cost of ownership and addressing long-standing concerns around maintenance perception in the Indian market. With a network spanning over 325 touchpoints across 180+ cities, Škoda Auto India is also leveraging its expanding distribution footprint to support the Kushaq’s growth trajectory.
Overall, the refreshed Kushaq represents a calibrated move by Škoda to consolidate its position in India’s mid-SUV segment by combining performance engineering, aggressive feature standardisation and enhanced ownership value — a strategy increasingly critical in a market defined by high competition and evolving consumer expectations.
