A morning of fitness turned into a powerful act of community compassion as thousands came together to support NGOs working for the vulnerable.
Ahmedabad: In a powerful show of community compassion, 4,124 participants came together on Sunday morning for the 24th Annual TTEC Wellness Walk held at the L.D. College of Engineering ground. The event successfully raised ₹1.023 crore, which will be contributed to three non-governmental organizations working towards meaningful social causes.

Blending fitness with philanthropy, the event featured a 4 km walk and a 7.5 km run, encouraging citizens to take steps for both personal health and community welfare. The walk was flagged off at 6:45 am by Dr. Nilay Bhuptani, Principal of L.D. College of Engineering; social and environmental activist Mittal Patel, Founder of Vicharta Samudaya Samarthan Manch; and Dr. Neeraj Suri, Founder of Tara Foundation.
NGOs Benefiting from the Initiative
The funds raised this year will support three organizations dedicated to improving lives:
-
Manav Parivar Trust (Est. 2013) – Provides safe shelter, medical care, and long-term rehabilitation for abandoned individuals with intellectual disabilities.
-
Shree Danev Foundation (Est. 2017) – Works for the rescue, treatment and welfare of injured birds and stray animals in Ahmedabad.
-
Shwas Charitable Trust (Est. 2008) – Empowers children from underserved communities through academic support and life-skills development.
A Walk with a Deeper Meaning
This year’s edition held special significance as it coincided with International Women’s Day, marking 115 years of global advocacy for gender equality. The event witnessed a notable rise in female participation, making the walk a celebration of both community spirit and women’s empowerment.

A Growing Movement of Compassion
What began as a small community initiative in 2003 has evolved into a meaningful movement that unites people for health and social impact. Over the past 24 editions, the Wellness Walk has:
-
Raised more than ₹13.44 crore
-
Supported 80 NGOs
-
Inspired over 108,502 participants
-
Received contributions from 290 donors
Importantly, to maintain complete transparency, all sponsorship contributions were directed straight to the beneficiary NGOs.
Reflecting on the journey, Biju Pillai, Vice-President (Operations), TTEC India, said: “What started as a simple idea to walk for a cause has grown into a remarkable movement of community giving. This year’s Wellness Walk was especially meaningful as we marked it as a women-led event on International Women’s Day, bringing together over 4,000 participants in support of important social causes. Over the past 24 years, this collective effort has raised more than ₹13.44 crores for 80 NGOs and inspired thousands to come together for health, compassion, and positive change.”
The event once again demonstrated how collective community action can turn simple steps into meaningful change, supporting vulnerable individuals, animals, and children who need care and opportunities.
