Ahmedabad: The 24th Annual TTEC Wellness Walk will be held in the city on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day, bringing together citizens for a charity initiative that combines community participation with social impact. The event will begin at 6.45 am from the L.D. Engineering College Ground and will feature a 4 km walk and a 7.5 km run. Organisers expect participation from several hundred citizens, corporate partners, and volunteers.

Originally launched in 2003, the initiative — earlier known as the Motif–TTEC Charity Walk — has evolved into one of Ahmedabad’s long-running corporate-led community events. Over the past 23 editions, the walk has helped raise more than ₹12.42 crore (approximately $1.95 million) for 77 NGOs. More than 1.04 lakh participants and 284 donors have contributed to the initiative over the years.
Funds raised through registrations and corporate sponsorships will support Manav Parivar Trust (Nonghanvadar), Shree Danev Foundation, and Shwas Charitable Trust. Donations are transferred directly to the beneficiary organisations. In addition, TTEC will match the funds raised through individual registrations, with the equivalent contribution distributed equally among the three NGOs. Participants can register online through Townscript with a minimum fee of ₹300.
Speaking about the initiative, Biju Pillai, Vice-President (Operations), TTEC India, said the walk reflects the organisation’s commitment to community welfare. “The Wellness Walk represents our belief that collective action can create meaningful social impact. For more than two decades, the initiative has brought together employees, partners, and citizens to support NGOs working on important community issues,” he said.
This year’s event is also expected to see greater participation from women, as it coincides with International Women’s Day, marking 115 years since its first observance in 1911.
