New Delhi : At the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2026, themed “Viksit Krishi – Atmanirbhar Bharat,” CropLife India highlighted the urgent need for safe and responsible use of crop protection products and stronger action against illicit trade. Held at ICAR–IARI, the three-day mela features 300+ stalls and is expected to draw over one lakh farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, researchers and students from across India.
CropLife India is translating stewardship into practical farm action through one-on-one farmer engagement, educational brochures and awareness banners explaining correct dosage, safety measures, storage norms and product authenticity checks. Farmers are advised to buy only from licensed dealers, insist on a proper bill, verify packaging and expiry, and strictly follow label instructions.
A major attraction at the stall is a live folk performance built around a Hindi awareness song promoting responsible pesticide use. The performance simplifies key label instructions — dosage, mixing, spray timing, waiting period and safety precautions — into easy-to-remember messages, making Good Agricultural Practices more relatable and actionable for farmers.
CropLife India said its participation reinforces commitment towards farmer awareness, responsible crop protection and sustainable agriculture, aligned with India’s vision of Viksit Krishi and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
