Gandhinagar : In an important step toward strengthening India’s financial talent ecosystem, GIFT City has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management (AJNIFM). The partnership will focus on capacity building, academic collaboration, and knowledge exchange in international finance, governance, and financial technology through the GIFT International FinTech Institute.
The collaboration aims to connect advanced financial education with the fast-evolving needs of India’s only International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at GIFT City, supporting its growth as a global financial and FinTech hub.
AJNIFM, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, is known for its strong foundation in policy-driven finance education and training. The institute regularly trains officers from government financial and accounts services and conducts postgraduate and executive programmes in finance, management, and public policy — making it a strong academic partner for GIFT City’s expanding financial ecosystem.
As part of the MoU, second-year MBA students from AJNIFM have begun a five-day Industry Immersion Programme at GIFT City. The programme is designed to give students practical exposure to regulatory systems, cross-border finance, digital financial innovation, capital markets, and the strategic framework behind GIFT City’s rise as a global financial centre.
GIFT City Managing Director and Group CEO Sanjay Kaul said the partnership reflects GIFT City’s continued focus on building strong industry-academia connections and developing skilled professionals for international financial services and FinTech. He added that initiatives like the immersion programme will help prepare future talent to contribute meaningfully to India’s IFSC ecosystem and global markets.
AJNIFM Director Praveen Kumar noted that the collaboration creates a strong platform for jointly designing advanced postgraduate programmes in finance and governance. He said the partnership will encourage faculty and student exchange, promote deeper academic engagement, and strengthen expertise in financial and governance studies.
The MoU also opens the door for joint research, executive education, faculty exchange, and shared knowledge platforms — reinforcing GIFT City’s commitment to talent development, innovation, and global financial leadership.
