Bhuj: Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh visited Bhuj on February 4–5, 2026, where he interacted with Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, and senior officers of Konark Corps. During the visit, he toured forward locations in the Creek Sector and reviewed the region’s operational preparedness, infrastructure development and ongoing capability-building initiatives. He was briefed on key efforts under the Indian Army’s Decade of Transformation Roadmap, which aims to build a technologically advanced, agile and combat-ready force capable of multi-domain operations.

The Defence Secretary also visited the Joint Control Centre, jointly operated by the Tri-Services, Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force and other security agencies. The centre integrates inputs from multiple sensors to create a unified surveillance picture, strengthening situational awareness and coordination among forces deployed in the region.

As part of the visit, Shri Singh inaugurated a Monumental Flag, symbolising national pride and unity in the border area. He also witnessed an operational display of new-generation weapon systems and advanced surveillance platforms.

Later, the Defence Secretary observed the multi-agency capability exercise ‘TATRAKSHA’, which highlighted seamless coordination between the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, BSF and other security agencies. The exercise demonstrated real-time surveillance, precision engagement, joint logistics and rapid response to emerging maritime and border threats, reaffirming India’s integrated operational strength.

The visit reflects the Government’s continued emphasis on strengthening jointness, improving border infrastructure, promoting indigenisation and building future-ready, resilient and technologically advanced Armed Forces.
