Ahmedabad : The Finance Minister has maintained the fiscal discipline seen in previous budgets, with the fiscal deficit contained at 4.3%. The increase in infrastructure spending by ₹1 lakh crore to ₹12 lakh crore reinforces long-term growth priorities, while the enhanced defence allocation is timely given ongoing border-related challenges.

However, the decline in net FDI remains a concern. While data centre incentives are a step forward, stronger measures could have helped attract sustained foreign investment. Overall, this is a reasonably good and pragmatic budget.
