Kochi: Škoda Auto India on Tuesday unveiled the new Kushaq, reinforcing its strategy of democratising European technology for Indian roads. The updated compact SUV introduces multiple segment-first features, including an all-new eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission, a rear seat massage function, and a panoramic sunroof, while retaining its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating.
Pre-bookings for the new Kushaq have commenced on Škoda Auto India’s official website at ₹15,000, with deliveries scheduled to begin by the end of March 2026. The Kushaq, the brand’s first product under the India 2.0 strategy, has been a key growth driver for Škoda in India and export markets such as ASEAN and the Middle East. The latest update further enhances the SUV’s value proposition across design, comfort, safety, and drivetrain options.
Commenting on the launch, Klaus Zellmer, CEO, Škoda Auto, said the new Kushaq underlines India’s strategic importance as the brand’s most significant market outside Europe. “With modern solid design cues, advanced infotainment and driver assistance features, the updated Kushaq sets a new benchmark for comfort, safety, and overall value,” he said.
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said the launch aligns with the brand’s mission to make European engineering more accessible. “The new Kushaq offers a class-leading range of real automatics and comes loaded with safety, comfort and convenience features as standard,” he added.
Design and Features
The new Kushaq adopts Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, featuring an illuminated front grille, new LED headlamps, connected LED taillamps with sequential indicators, and illuminated ‘Škoda’ lettering at the rear. Alloy wheels are standard across all variants, while the Monte Carlo badge is available from launch. The SUV will be offered in three new colours—Shimla Green, Steel Grey and Cherry Red—alongside existing shades.

Performance-focused buyers can opt for the 1.5-litre TSI engine delivering 110 kW and 250 Nm, mated exclusively to a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
Interior, Technology and Safety
Inside, the new Kushaq features a panoramic sunroof, dual-colour ambient lighting, ventilated electric front seats, and a 10.25-inch digital cockpit on higher variants. The infotainment system is powered by a Google Automotive AI Agent, offering voice assistance tailored to Indian accents. Safety remains a core focus, with six airbags and over 25 safety features standard across variants, extending to over 40 features on higher trims.
