Gandhinagar : Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU), formerly known as DA-IICT, hosted its 20th Convocation Ceremony at its Gandhinagar campus on Saturday, conferring degrees on 649 graduates across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes.
Eminent Guests & Leadership Presence
The Convocation Address was delivered by Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Professor Emeritus, Department of Electrical Engineering and former Director of IIT Madras, who attended as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Ambassador T. S. Tirumurti, Member of the Board of Governors, DAU.
The event witnessed the presence of DAU’s senior leadership, including Prof. (Dr.) Tathagata Bandyopadhyay (Director General), Dr. G. Venkatesh (Director, School of Technology), Prof. (Dr.) Avinash Dadhich (Director, School of Law), and Shri Siddharth Swaminarayan (Executive Registrar), along with faculty members, students, and distinguished dignitaries.

Pre-Convocation Recognitions
The celebrations began on January 16 with a Pre-Convocation Award Ceremony, where the Faculty Appreciation Award 2025 and Student Research Excellence Award 2025 were presented, along with honours for outstanding co-curricular achievements.
Message to Graduates
In a special address shared with the graduating batch, Tina Anil Ambani, President of DAU, urged students to balance technological innovation with human-centred design while prioritising physical and mental well-being as key to long-term success.
Distinguished Alumni Award Instituted
Marking its 25-year milestone, DAU introduced the Distinguished Alumni Award, with the inaugural honour conferred upon Mr. Pavitar Singh (B.Tech ICT, 2005) for his professional excellence and societal contributions. A formal felicitation will be held separately.

The convocation reaffirmed DAU’s evolution into a multidisciplinary institution, strengthening its role in shaping future-ready professionals in engineering, data science, agriculture analytics, design, and research.
